It's a giant sea spider that was discovered on the Ross Sea shelf in southern Antarctica. It is 9.8 inches long and preys on hydroids and bryzoans. Marine arachnids are found in various places in the world, however the conditions in Antarctica cause these spiders to be more common and larger then in other locations.
I am NOT a fan of spiders and I do believe that if I came across one of these, I probably would die of cardiac arrest.
However there was another animal discovered in Antarctica that I think is fantastic:
Scientists have dubbed it a "Yeti Crab"...which is probably the best name I have ever heard of for an animal and instantly makes me think of this which is awesome:

That's spider's something else, although when your body is as thin as your leg, I think nature's laughing at you.
The sooner genetic sciences have me riding one of those lobsters everywhere, the sooner i'll die from incredibly joyous orgasm.
i love the yeti lobster
